i’m not posting any more of these excerpts because i think they’re probably going to be really triggering to some of my followers but i’m sad and angry about what goes on in mental hospitals and psychiatric corrections institutions and whatever else you want to call prisons for neuroatypical people and i hope you agree with me when i say that i want it to get a little more attention than it gets right now
the judge rotenburg center may be getting a little bit of media attention right now, but it’s only one facility and it’s definitely not the worst that’s ever existed. it’s had six reported deaths in 36 years. that’s nothing. that’s a drop in the ocean - there’s no way to even accurately count how many mentally ill and autistic kids have died from murder, abuse and negligence because most of them simply disappear.
ableism is an actual thing and it is a big fucking deal.
