White privilege is just that: having the privilege of being white. That doesn’t erase the fact you and your family may have struggled financially, or that you’re gay and have experienced hatred from society, or that you struggle with a mental or physical disability, or etc. It doesn’t mean you’ve never experienced hardships. It doesn’t mean your life is perfect. It just means that you, as a white person, have the privileges that come with being white. And one of those privileges includes not experiencing racism.
Stop complaining and just listen. Stop putting words in people’s mouths. Nobody is saying that your life is picture perfect and that nothing in your life has ever been fucked-up. All people are saying is that the things that are fucked-up have nothing to do with you being white. You can have white privilege but not have class privilege or etc. They’re different, though often can go together (but that’s way too complex for me to go into right now because I’m lacking the spoons).
I don’t know, just felt like throwing that out there.
