PoC can be entrenched in whiteness, but it does not support them the way it does white people.
White people on the other hand are daily and consistently fed whiteness and it makes them feel good. They need to spend the rest of their lives constantly checking to make sure they aren’t falling for that bunk.
The minute a supposed white ally believes they’ve reached the point of being “anti-racist” is the moment they forget they can’t ever stop checking themselves. It’s the moment they start to eat their own ally bunk and become one of the most insidious types of racist out there.
If I say whiteness and imply ALL white people, that is a clue to ALL white people that they can never, ever let themselves get like that. The moment you stop checking yourself is the moment you are just like every other white supremacist. The moment you think to yourself “why does this say all white people? I checked myself!” is the moment you are just like every other white supremacist.
You need to be reminded, and I will remind you.
