If you’re more willing to listen to your white friends telling you something’s *not* racist than the POCs telling you it is, I have some bad news for you.

this-is-not-native:

Diagnosis: Racist.
Symptoms: Values white opinions on race above those of the people who actually experience racism. Bawwws about how “But art is FREEEEE!!!” and trivializes POCs talking about their pain. May or may not be related to a Cherokee princess.
Treatment: Involves an intense session of sitting the fuck down, shutting the fuck up, and listening. Unlearning a lifetime of unintentional racism is a difficult process, and many patients give up on treatment early on.
