Hello.

HEY, PRO-LIFERS. NOTHING TO SAY? AT ALL?

stfuconservatives:

god-is-prochoice:

Say something, you cowardly fucks. Say something about Savita Halappanavar, the woman who had a wanted pregnancy… wanted pregnancy… WANTED PREGNANCY… and needed a LIFE-SAVING ABORTION, and because she was denied that abortion, she DIED.

Where is your pro-life mentality, now? Huh? Got nothing to say? You’re not so pro-life anymore? Now there’s two deaths instead of what could have been one, the death of a non-sentient fetus that was doomed to die anyway through miscarriage… and the blood is on YOUR hands. You may not have been there in person, you may not have been the one to tell her “no”, but your bullshit support for your bullshit cause adds fuel to the bullshit fire.

And FYI, she’s not the first, and if your fetus “love-affair” continues, she won’t be the last.

I hope you’re happy.

And by happy, I mean fucking miserable.

Yup, waiting to hear the pro-lifers weigh in on how a fetal heartbeat law killed this woman.

“a candidate for sheriff in New Hampshire said Wednesday that he would be willing to use deadly force to prevent a woman from terminating her pregnancy”

i’m hanging somewhere between absolute rage and sobbing uncontrollably.

This is not pro-life.

d-do they not … how can … this … no

Bu… how… wh.

i thought this was a joke
nope.
so
so does like
okay so
so does this person think babies grown in a sac outside the mother or…?
what does
i mean
i can’t

…
…
…
…
………………..

Wait. Then what if he uses deadly force on a woman planning to terminate, and then he kills her, like, wouldn’t he kill the fetus too? What the heck would the deadly force be for then?
Oh wait I am logicking. Never mind.

It’s because, whether he admits it or not, what he’s using deadly force for isn’t to prevent a damn thing.  It’s to punish.  Because he feels it’s his place to step up and punish people (all women, in his eyes, which is a large portion of the motivation here) who are daring not to use their bodies the way he believes they should be used.
Just like the rest of the “pro-life” movement, it’s not about preventing abortion, it’s about punishing people with pregnancy.

‎I do not believe that just because you’re opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don’t? Because you don’t want any tax money to go there. That’s not pro-life. That’s pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is.

I vote we stop using the term “pro-life” and change to “pro-birth”, and every time someone asks “What does that mean?”, you can explain this and the other racialized, classist, misogynist, body policing, rape culture reinforcing bullshit behind “pro-life” dogma.

Where Romney is bad on issues of contraception, abortion access, and social services, Paul Ryan is worse. Ryan has a 0% rating by NARAL, indicating an entirely anti-choice voting record. It’s a long record too – Ryan has cast 59 votes against abortion access and family planning funding since 1998, including several votes to completely eliminate Title X funding. Ryan is passionate about his extreme views on contraception, saying, “I’m as pro-life as a person gets. You’re not going to have a truce.” His stance is so extreme that he opposes everything from allowing abortion coverage by private insurers that receive any federal money – which is most insurance companies – to allowing doctors to perform emergency abortions to save women’s lives. A Romney-Ryan ticket guarantees that the war on women would win a battle at the executive level.

Abortion Funds by State

glitter-femin1sts:

Searching for a clinic and a doctor in your state is hard, and is almost impossible if you don’t have any money or means to travel.

Below are links to organizations that have abortion funds by state, then by city.

Please note: Many of these sites lead to either Planned Parenthood or The National Network of Abortion Funds.

If any organizations are not on the list, please don’t hesitate to add them in or message us!

VIDEO SHOWS POLICE BEATING PREGNANT WOMAN IN HANDCUFFS (Disturbing footage)

Did San Antonio Police Officers use excessive force on a pregnant woman? That’s what the Department is looking into tonight, after a Fox San Antonio viewer shot video of three officers holding down a pregnant woman. One of those officers hits her repeatedly.

It was the sound of a woman screaming that caught Lorenzo Rios’s attention. “All I heard was her yelling to get off me, I heard her yell I’m pregnant,” said Rios. So, he started to record this video with his cell phone. “She was already cuffed and they started to beat her, which I don’t think was right. It was pretty messed up. She was already down and pretty small compared to the other officers.”

According to a police report, 21-year-old Destiny Rios was arrested for prostitution and resisting arrest. She’s 5’1, 126 pounds and pregnant.

Abortion - Myths and Reality

pleasesexplain:

Abortion has become an increasingly controversial topic. The anti choice movement has created a plethora of misinformation and flat-out lies. If you google information about abortion, a lot of scary, untrue “information” can come up, and this can be dangerous. I’m here to debunk some common myths about abortion.

MYTH: If you have an abortion, you won’t be able to have any kids in the future.

REALITY: Abortion is an extremely safe procedure. It’s 10 times safer than giving birth if performed before the 18th week of pregnancy, and about twice as safe as having your tonsils removed. A safe, uncomplicated abortion procedure should not affect future fertility. An abortion does not make miscarriage more likely, increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy, cause birth defects, cause premature birth, or increase the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

MYTH: Abortion causes breast cancer.

REALITY: A link between abortion and breast cancer has never been found. This myth has been promoted by people and groups that are against abortion; they use this idea to frighten people away from obtaining an abortion.

MYTH: If I have an abortion, I will become depressed and get “post-abortion stress syndrome.”

REALITY: The American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association do not recognize the existence of “post-abortion stress syndrome.” They have found the anti-choice studies and research flawed. Most scientific studies found that the long-term reactions to having an abortion are positive. Those at high-risk for depression and other psychological issues after abortion are people who already had emotional and psychological issues before the procedure.

MYTH: Plan B/emergency contraception causes abortion.

REALITY: Emergency contraception, also called Plan B and the morning after pill, is not the abortion pill. Emergency contraception stops a pregnancy from happening, while the abortion pill (RU-486 or mifepristone) terminates an already existing pregnancy.

MYTH: Only irresponsible people want abortions.

REALITY: According to the Guttmacher Institute, one in three people will have an abortion before age 45. Roughly two-thirds of those people will already have children and families. Mistakes happen. In a perfect world, birth control would be 100% effective, easy to use, and free or low cost. Everyone would have fact-based comprehensive sex education and access to sexual health services. There would be no rape or incest. Birth complications and birth defects would no longer exist. But, unfortunately, the world is not like that. Until that happens, abortion needs to be kept safe, legal, and accessible.
